716 Playlists – Frank Agrario Playlist

09.01.12 - Guillaume - 716lavie

The first time I had listened to the Hot Tube 12″ from Frank Agrario on Internasjonal Spesial label end of 2010, it had been an immediate love for these 2 tracks.

I had done a post on 716 and had asked Franck the authorization to put the tracks in a player.

It is time to get in touch with Fransceco again, what will be your next releases?
“I’ve a new one coming on Internasjonal soon, I’m about to release my afro disco band “The Bank” on the english label Ambassadors Reception, a label of the Bear Funk group, and have something for spring time on a french label from Paris, La Belle, good stuff!”

1) Michael Jackson – Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough
To me it’s the synthesis of disco, brilliant track and performance, i loved it so much i had to do an edit too!

2) Romanthony – Let Me Show You Love
Listen, and understand!

3) Chicken Lips – He Not In (Club Mix)
Golden Bugtold me my track “Hot Tube” reminded him of Chiken Lips, well i was listening this track so much i should have been influenced, the delays, the rough sound, special…

4) Zodiac – Pacific
Cosmic Disco from Russia, the bass line it’s super fantastic!
I think Metro Area released it on their label too, i found a used vinyl in a second hand market 🙂

5) Sofrito Specials – Calypso Path (Sofrito Edit)
I’m in love with this, one day i’ll make something as good as this.

6) Scientist- Your Teeth in My Neck
Jamaica is in my heart, it’s a tough choice between this and King Tubby’s “in fine style”.

7) Sylvester – I Need Somebody To Love Tonight
I think Cassius where really inspired by this recording for their “See Me Now”, same kinda vibe or am i crazy, never mind, i love this tune!

8) Tullio de Piscopo – Stop Bajon
I’m a drummer, and he was my drum hero when i was a kid, later i found out he was Astor Piazzola’s drummer, even later i found that his early tunes where cosmic good!

9) Cat Stevens – Was Dog A Doughnut
Nice experimental disco with out of time sequences, beautiful!

10) Ebo Taylor & The Sweet Beans – Odofo Nyi Akyiri Biara
I didn’t know if i had to put this or T-Coy’s “Carino”. I decided for this but you can check the 1987 house classic that started the tropical clash movement too.
