Kathy Stoyanow is one of them. When I’ve been looking for a flat in Valencia in order tom come here working for two months, I asked all the people who rented places if the room was sunny and quiet. I need to work every day home so I need a space confortable enough.
Kathy told me her place was perfect for that. I came in Valencia the 28th of january but her place was available only since the 5th of february. So I’ve been living somewhere else meanwhile. A few days before the 5th, she called me because she said she had received more than 100 emails about the room! She wanted to know if I would still take it. I said yes.
When I came the 5th of february I discovered the room. It was a first floor, she never mentionned it was a first floor and the bus and cars were passing just down my window : nothing to do with what I was looking for to work all day long and nothing that this Kathy Stoyanow had said it would be.
I wanted to be correct and proposed her a deal. I could have easily walked away. I proposed her to give her some money as a compensation for the nights she would lose meanwhile she would find another person to rent the room. As she had said she had received 100 mails recently, it was easy to imagine she could easily find someone.
The monthly rent was 350 euros, I gave her 150 euros and we agreed she would keep me informed about the search. I asked her in the next days, but then she stopped answering. I sent her 4 more emails, but got no replies.
Finally I decided to come to her house accompanied by a friend. The house is located : Calle Hernan Cortés número 12, puerta 4.
We rang at the main entrance of the building. She answered, I said I was Guillaume coming to see if she had news about the rental and my money too. Then she said there was no Kathy at this address.
The friend who was with me hallucinated as much as me. When I came back home she had written me a crazy email, lying from A to Z.
Insane. I reserved the room from the 21th of January to the 5th of february? As you could see in the previous email, it is from the 4th of february and she gives me the address to come the next day. I also have the ticket of the bank machine next to her house where I took the money the 5th of february.
And here you could see she said she would look for someone else to rent the room.
This woman has said she had health problems in the past because she was working for Promod as a manager and she was not feeling good because she was pressuring her employees as she was asked by her superiors. The she realized she needed to be more in harmony and respect more the others. Well…
