A coffee shop that makes us feel really good, it was my hideout in Wroclaw. The staff is friendly, it’s a family business, we can choose a vinyl and play it on the turn table ( well, it’s a collector’s turn table, so the staff puts it in), the seats are nice, there’s Wifi, and it works. It’s not full of tourists, this Vinyle Café is a good deal!
I arrived in Wroclaw on a very sunny Sunday afternoon after leaving a rainy Cracovia, all this to say that I was dying of heat walking from the train station to the center. The person I was supposed to meet wasn’t there yet and so I was waking around looking for a nice spot to sit in. I was going round and round, and nothing appealed to me on the main square, two places had been recommended to me: Frankie’s, more for smooties and juices, and a bistro called Friends, but their pastries weren’t made in-house ( the server pointed out that they did come from a nice bakery), and I wasn’t inspired.
So I continued to look around, stubborn as I am, if I don’t like something, I wont stop. And then, as I was turning away from a quiet street, I stumbled on Vinyle Café, and obviously the name called out to me, but so did the decor, the vibe that came from it.
The place is cozy, with different wooden tables, you can stay there for hours: here, the man is working on his computer, there a couple is talking a bit awkwardly on the couch , two girlfriends are chatting, 716 is chilling and recharging his Iphone, life is good.
The first time I went,I was surprised at the friendliness and the professionalism of the two young girls: actually, one of them is the bosses’ daughter and the other one her friend, who was working hard.
I came back more than once, and I introduced myself in order to leave my sticker because the place really corresponded to 716: a discussion with the boss followed, curious and alert, very interested in the fact that I liked this place.
You can feel the family atmosphere here.
There was a drink I really liked there, it’s a type of infusion with lots of red fruits and oranges, it’s very healthy and refreshing. It’s called Gojia if I’m not mistaken, a house specialty.
It was my favorite place to stop at for a bit in the center during my untimely peregrinations.
