Suur Munamägi (big egg) is the highest point in the country and of the Baltic states; it makes Estonians laugh, because it only reaches 318 meters in height, but it is the same height of the Eiffel Tower actually. It’s called big egg because of the shape of the hill.

To get to the top, you need to pay an entrance fee, but it’s a moderate price ( only a few euros).

You could almost see the main European cities in the distance.

On the way to the tower, you come across this man selling crafts he created himself.

You can also find the Suur Muna coffee shop which also houses the Joni Jon pastry shop at the parc’s entrance, and it’s definitely something to check out. They sell different handmade original flavored caramels. While talking to the lady who was running it I learned that the pastry chef was French, from Lyon :). I saw him actually, but didn’t get a chance to talk to him.

They have several locations in Estonia.

We tried a chili caramel, as well as a pumpkin seed caramel.

Something to check out if you have a car at your disposal. The view point is nice, on a nice day you have a bird’s eye view of the surroundings, since the country is flat otherwise. As for the coffee-pastry break, it lets you put the good and the useful together, or vice versa, anyways, you understand, we like it!
