Fazenda is a quality restaurant chain in Latvia, the ingredients are good, the dishes “manquent d’a propos” but the service and the atmosphere is nice.

- Lieu -

The decor puts an emphasis on the rustic side, by still being very stylish. There’s space between tables.

- L'équipe -

The staff is the room that day was young, there was a young man that had some good recommendations, another that I didn’t talk to, and a young woman that was checking her texts during the two services (it’s true that it was Saturday night, and that the restaurant wasn’t very full). Overall, the service was pleasant, but some “sont un peu loin de la carte”.

Goat cheese avocados

It’s one of the menu’s signature dishes, or at least, that’s what I read in some of the clients’ different comments. I have to say that the server didn’t seem to share this opinion when I asked him about it before ordering. But I wanted to try it, and as I’ve said previously, after a trip rich in carbs, fibres were most welcome at night. Unfortunately, it was a little bland, just like when you mess up avocados in the oven at home; other than that, the ingredients were good. It’s funny, because on this Trip Advisor picture, you can tell they’re served cold, which might be better, something to try out.

It was very good, a piladzis infusion (a little fruit) with Tatratea peach liquor. Tatratea is a liquor with different tea flavours, herbs and moutain water.

Dessert

Almond paste tart with a berry sauce. The dessert wasn’t bad:), and had a nice presentation at least.

- Le bilan -

A solid choice, a quality bistro, with fresh ingredients, a safe bet in a pleasant atmosphere, even if all the dishes aren’t necessarily equally good.
