Transportation
The taxis in the region aren’t very expensive, good to know if you’re a pedestrian. There are also buses.
Internet
The entire town has free wifi!
Kranjska Gora is the last town before the Italian border. It’s a famous winter resort and the starting point for many excursions and bike trails (the bike trails are in very good shape), Triglav Park is right beside it, Trigalv is the highest peak of the Slovenian Alps (2864). Trigalv is the god of thunder Thor’s ancient name, and it also means three heads.

I know the owner, she’s very friendly. A pretty, well designed hotel in Podkoren close to Kranjska Gora, the prices here are a little cheaper than in Kranjska Gora. There are also ski lifts in Podkoren that bring you to Trigalv’s ski resort.
Jasna Lake
Jasna Lake is an artificial lake located 15 mins from the center of Kranjska Gora. The water is crystal clear. People also come here to admire the chamois statue with “Zlatorog” gold horns. The colors are splendid in the fall.
If you have wheels, you can keep going to the Russian orthodox chapel built in memory of the 300 dead soldiers during the avalanche in 1916. These Russian prisoners were given the task of building the road that goes through the mountain in 1915-1916, an impossible mission, which was executed in dreadful conditions. Each year, many Russians flock from everywhere in order to participate in the memorial ceremony.
The Slovenian Alps Museum
Mojstrana

The entrance fee is 6 euros
It’s not in Kranjska Gora, but 14 km away, in Mostrana. It opened in 2010, and its architecture is modern, but fits well into the landscape. It’s remarkably well done, and very well adapted to children, because its made to be fun. Don’t miss out on the shelter where you can experience a storm simulation.

A wildlife reserve that shouldn’t be missed. Splendid, it reminded me of the Baltic landscapes.

The opinions on Trip Advisor praised this place, I was much more reserved: the pizza was average, it wasn’t cooked enough to my liking, and the cheese was too thick; the server was also average in his friendliness. I’m still putting it up, because it’s not bad, and a pizza is always welcome in high altitude, when you’re cold, tired, and just want some comfort food.
