Taevaskoja is a magical spot two hours away from Tartu, you can also get there by train because there’s a station by the park ( you need to plan for somewhat of a walk to get to the inside of the park though)
It’s a forest and a natural park, an ideal spot for picnics or a hike. Furthermore, the place is full of legends, there are information signs all along the path, giving information on animal species, fauna, as well as sacred waters and legends.
It’s important to know that in Estonia the belief the spirits of nature is deeply rooted, even today. The Estonians, and even more so the people from the Baltic states give a lot of importance to legends around forests and nature.
There’s a big sign close to the train station on which is inscribed all the movies that were filmed in the vicinity.
