716 Playlists – Julien Mounier de Banging Bees Playlist

J’ai découvert Julien Mounier et son webmagazine de snowboard Bangingbees via un article de VICE.
Ce que j’ai beaucoup aimé, c’est non seulement le contenu snow de grande qualité mais aussi la démarche de Julien qui vient de la presse plus classique et qui a décidé de lancer avec Yann Dechatrette son propre site avec un vrai souci de repérage et de mise en valeur de contenu pertinent, qu’il ait été produit en propre (activité amenée à se développer de plus en plus) ou qu’il vienne d’autres sources.
On est très proche du travail de 716 : sélectionner l’info de qualité, d’où qu’elle vienne, et avec toujours un souci de mise en valeur.
Je suis très heureux de publier cette sélection sur 716 et de promouvoir le travail de Bangingbees par la même occasion.

I have discovered Julien Mounier and his webmagazine about snowboard Bangingbees in an article of VICE.
What I have instantly liked is not always the very high quality snowboard content, but also the approach of Julien Mounier who comes from the classic medias and has decided to launch his own website with Yann Dechatrette. The goal is to do a real identification work among all the snowboards videos (and infos in general) and highlight the relevant content, whatever it has been produced by themselves (an activity to grow) or has been take from other sources.
Their work is very similar to what is done on 716 : select some quality info, wherever it comes from, and present it with a view to enhancing.
I’l very happy to introduce you this Snowboard Videos 716 Playlist and to promote the work of 
Bangingbees.

En dessous de chaque titre, il y a le nom du surfer ou alors la mention Intro pour préciser qu’il s’agit de la séquence d’ouverture de la vidéo puis le nom de la vidéo, celui de la boîte de prod’ et l’année de réalisation).
Below every title, there is the name of the snowboarder or the mention Intro to specify it was the opening sequence of the video then there is the name of the video itself, the name of the production company and the year of production.

2) Supersuckers – Creepy Jackalope Eye

Part de fin légendaire d’une des vidéos les plus mémorables des 90’s avec 2 riders qui marqueront l’histoire du snowboard.
The legendary last sequence of one of the most outstanding videos of the 90’s with 2 riders who’ll definately mark history.

3) Yeah Yeah Yeahs – Y control

Corey Smith a fait une révolution stylistique dans le snowboard avec cette part. L’un des premiers à rider en jeans et veste en cuir et toujours à la recherche de spots originaux.
Corey Smith made a stylistic revolution in the snowboard world with this part. He was one of the first ones to ride in jeans and with a leather jacket and always looking for some unique spots.

4) Twisted Sisters – I Wanna Rock

L’intro de la vidéo la plus marquante des années 2000, qui installera le team de la marque Forum comme le plus influent de sa génération.
The intro of the most remarkable video of the 2000’s, it will set up the team of the brand Forum as the most influent of its generation.

6) MOP – Ante Up

Après The Resistance, Forum poursuit sa domination du snowboard l’année d’après avec True Life et cette part créera des hordes de clones de JP Walker dans les stations au début des années 2000.
After The Resistance, Forum continued to dominate the snowboard scene the next year with True Life and this part of it will give birth to thousands of clones of JP Walker in the stations in the early 2000’s.

7) Daft Punk – Aerodynamic

Nico Droz a la plus grosse carrière du snowboard français et pour l’une de ses plus belles années, il met la musique hexagonale à l’honneur.
Nico Droz has the longest career among the French snowboarders and during the year which will be one of his best, he’s honoured the French music scene.

8) Tears For Fears – Everybody wants to rule the world
(Travis Parker – Afterbang – Robotfood)

Un ovni niveau style et créativité à l’époque qui marquera son temps, appuyé par une bande-son 80’s aussi loufoque que Travis Parker lui-même.
This one is an authentic UFO in terms of style and creativity, backed up by an 80’s soundtrack as much zany as Travis Parker himself.

9) Murray Head – One Night In Bangkok

Le must du style partyboard qui mixe images de snowboard et de fiesta. Un bon classique 80’s pour la part de fin du boss du crew Wildcats et l’un des riders les plus respectés du monde pour son style, le Canadien Devun Walsh.
The must of the partyboard style mixing snowboard scenes and parties. It is an 80’s classic, especially due to the end part of it with the Canadian Devun Walsh, boss of the Wildcats crew and of the most respectful riders in the world for his riding style.

10) Jacques Dutronc – Hippie Hippie Hourrah

Louif Paradis est un québécois stylé, classe et serein et personne n’aurait pu mériter mieux que lui une chanson de Dutronc. Suite à cette part, le répertoire du chanteur a été pillé par les vidéos de snowboard.
Louif Paradis is a stylish, classy and serene snowboarder from Quebec and no one more than he deserved to ride on a Dutronc’s song. After this video, we can’t count the ones that plundered the repertoire of the artist.
