Un des rares derniers albums sur rephlex a nous avoir un peu chamboulé; électro, acid, mélodique, rien a jeter, c’est propre.

Un groupe anglais de new wave qui a sorti un unique 10′ sur Domestica avec 2 tracks en 1987. Le côté DoItYourself, la voix juvénile et la froideur de la production en font un truc unique.
An English new wave band that has only released one 10′ including two tracks on Domestica in 1987. The DIY vibe, the young voice and the “cold” production made this record something totally unique.

Un morceau magnifique sur le label L.I.E.S. Très lent, assez indéfinissable entre cosmic et balearic… avec un clip dingue de Luke Wyatt, l’alliance est parfaite.
A beautiful tune on the L.I.E.S. label. Very slow, something between cosmic and balearic… with a super trippy video by Luke Wyatt, both match perfectly together.

6) The Creatures – Japan
En tant que fans d’italo, obligés d’en citer un. Difficile de faire un choix car beaucoup de one shot dans l’italo mais ce groupe, lui, est mythique.
As huge italo fans, we had to mention one. Difficult to make a choice because there are many “one shot” in this musical genre but this band is mythical.

7) Bastion – Mesec u Solji
Parce que les plus belles choses du monde viennent d’ex-yougoslavie. Ce groupe macédonien des 80’s est plutôt crossover et ce morceau est d’une douceur suave à tomber.
Because the most beautiful things in this world come from Ex-Yougaslavia. This 80’s Macedonian band is kind of crossover and this track is damn sweet!

8) Ennio Morricone & Chico Buarque – Umas & outras
La rencontre entre le maestro italien et la voix mélancolique du brésilien fait des merveilles. Les sons d’orgue filent des frissons. La beauté incarnée, une perfection.
The mix between the Italian maestro and the melancholic voice of the Brazilian singer is wonderful. The organ sounds make me thrill. This is pure beauty, the perfection.

9) Fort Romeau – Say Something
100%silk est un de ces rares labels intéressant d’une scène américaine électronique underground qui reprend un peu du poil de la bête. Label qui puise beaucoup de son inspiration dans les 80’s, ce qui n’est pas pour nous déplaire. Pourtant, c’est ce morceau, beaucoup plus épuré que la plupart des autres, qui nous rend oufs. C’est plutôt minimaliste mais ca donne une house sous md d’une sensualité folle, humide, moite, au groove incroyable.
100%silk is one of the rare interesting US labels of an US underground electronic music scene that starts to be in the game again. This label is mostly inspired by the 80’s sound. Neverthess it’s this song, much more minimal, that blows us away. It’s kind of basic but it creates a House music under MDMA, totally sensual, wet, sweaty, with an incredible groove.

10) Makina Girgir – Siren Scam
On aime beaucoup cet artiste toulousain qui vient de sortir un magnifique album sur le label parisien “La forme lente“. Toujours une touche très 80’s avec des synthés omniprésents qui donnent une electro discoïde aux accents new wave mais tout en sobriété. Ce morceau là, au clip ultra léché, était sur une excellente compilation du défunt label berlinois “Das drehmoment” qui était aussi notre boutique de disques préférée de la ville du currywurst.
We love this artist from the city of Toulouse in France who has just released a beautiful album on the Parisian label “La forme lente“. There is still a big 80’s touch with ubiquitous synths that create some electro with a touch of disco some discrete new wave echoes. This song was on an excellent compilation of the defunct label from Berlin “Das drehmoment” that was also our favourite record store in the currywurst city.
